No, not captured, _rescued_. As Doyen regained his wits, he realized there was nothing tying him to the Word Bearers. As soon as the Fire Angels found him, stumbling through the Word Bearers lines, they assumed he was a prisoner. As always, an Inquisitorial Seal went a long way towards convincing anyone of the ‘truth’.
The marines got him back to their own lines, and on a transport back to their battle barge. After a brief recuperation and inspection by the medicae, he was assigned to a frigate that sped him back to Harkor. Once there he would rejoin his acolytes and see what progress the Harkorn 88th had made in his absence.
He didn’t fully understand what this journey had been about. Perhaps these Word Bearers had lost their way and needed a lesson. Perhaps their sacrifice would bring about some new power for Akthanor, Doyen didn’t know, yet. He would remain in contact, Apostle Zhusov certainly had some promise for the future. He would follow these paths and see where they would lead, but in the meantime, there was much work to be done.
